From Psychology to Design
My career began with a passion for psychology and understanding how people learn. This curiosity led me to an unexpected and fulfilling path in educational technology. Teaching computer and digital multimedia became the foundation for my exploration of instructional design and the transformative potential of technology-driven learning experiences.
Building Expertise Through Education
To deepen my skills and expand my impact, I earned a Master’s in Learning Experience Design and Educational Technology and an MBA. These advanced degrees gave me the ability to combine instructional best practices with strategic business thinking. This academic foundation has been instrumental in my ability to deliver innovative, technology-driven learning solutions that align with organizational goals.
Expanding Expertise
Early in my career, I developed learning solutions for diverse industries and educational institutions. I designed sales training modules for ScargoLabs to support CBD product sales, created web content for Music for Vets, and crafted career readiness courses for K-12 schools to prepare students for real-world challenges. My ability to integrate tools like Articulate 360, Storyline, and Adobe Creative Suite into these projects ensured engaging and effective learning experiences.
Driving Change Through Policy
As my career progressed, I took on leadership roles that allowed me to shape impactful learning experiences tied to organizational and institutional strategies. For companies like Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Elevance, I developed training modules that guided hiring managers and recruiters in aligning with corporate policies. At COSD County of San Diego, I supported initiatives that improved workplace practices and employee engagement.
Recently, I was invited to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the University of Maryland’s Learning and Design master’s program, to contribute my expertise to advance the next generation of instructional designers.
Crafting for Impact
Whether collaborating with global corporations, non-profits, schools, or academic institutions, I bring creativity, strategic leadership, and a learner-focused approach to every project. My goal is always to deliver end-to-end learning solutions that empower individuals, align with organizational goals, and drive measurable success.
How you play is who you become. As a child, playacting with my friends often found me guiding and inspiring them through teaching. When I was on my own, I expressed myself through design, creating collages and paintings. Empathy and aesthetics have always been constants in my lifelong love of learning.
I am an open-water swimmer and nature-loving enthusiast. My dream is to swim in every octopus ocean in the world. I am inspired by the sights and sounds of the sea and the environment that surrounds me.
Technology is my paintbrush. My creative tools include Articulate 360, Storyline, Adobe Suite, Midjourney PowerPoint, Camtasia, Synthesia, Dall-E, ChatGPT, and Claude. Every day, I find some new technique to add to my ever-growing toolbox of knowledge. I discover joy in design. It's where I find my flow.
